Paying It Forward And Finding New Clients

It is very hard for some interior designers to find new clients. How do you meet them? A designer in California offered this idea as a method of reaching potential new clients while at the same time “giving back” to her community. She volunteers her time and talent for causes and organizations that have two criteria- she needs to fully support the work they are doing, and their board needs to be composed in large part of people who could become potential clients. This has worked well for her. She becomes known through her association with the organization, is able to benefit her community, and often gets projects from members of the organization’s board that have gotten to know their new interior designer through a service or cause that is shared by them both. Great marketing idea, and also of benefit to the larger community and not just to this designer. Bravo! Hope that this idea helps one of you out there!
