On the Monday before Thanksgiving, I would like to wish each and every person in the design community a holiday filled with gratitude and joy.  Whether at a gathering of family or friends, or ruminating by yourself, may this Thursday be special for you, and you, and you.

Personally, after all that has happened in the past two years, I am most certainly filled with gratitude.  The Baldwin family is healthy.  Our son’s book was published to rave reviews.  Our daughter is thriving in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Donghia and Bergamo are well, and have come through these terrible past two years successfully.  Many of our design clients are busy again, and many “splinter firms” are forming, comprised of talented ex-employees of other firms.  This injection of talent will engender a rebirth in the interior design industry, and I look forward to the next chapter in the story of our wonderful industry.  It will be a different industry, certainly, but perhaps an even better one!  We will have to wait and see.  There are a lot of very creative people out there forming small firms, and I wish them well.  In fact, if you are reading this, and have started a brand new design firm, send in a comment as to how it is going, and congratulations to you!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
